Impressions From My Yard – Photos On The 4th

I walked around my yard this morning and this is what I ended up with. When I walked in the house, I thanked my wife for such a beautiful yard. Most of the flowers and plants in our gardens are recycled, either rescued from gardens that my wife has worked on or from the dump, where people throw away perfectly good plants. The rocks were all dug up and hauled by my wife and I over a couple years.. We would go rock hunting periodically, and had one spot that produced a lot of them. My wife is an advanced Master Gardener, certified through Michigan State University.

Fall In Michigan Is Amazing

I’ll be traveling across Michigan to a conference Monday and Tuesday. I’m looking forward to seeing the amazing colors that are coming on strong. I’ll be taking pictures as we go, so look for those next week and beyond. I do have some friends posting for me while I’m away, so come on by and check them out.

I took the picture below while I was killing time waiting on a pizza Friday night.

Photos – Fall Colors With Pretty Horses

I took these photos a couple of years ago. It was a very good year for fall color. I was out taking photos and on my way from one location to another when I came across this field with a beautiful spread of trees. I parked alongside the road and got out and as I did, these two horses came galloping from off in the distance towards me. I started shooting photos. They ran right up to the fence and I started talking to them as if they were models, seriously — and they were responding to me. It was a surreal experience. They struck many poses. Here are a few of the better ones.
