Morning Beauty – Monarchs

I’m going to try to start posting pretty photos that I’ve taken on a regular basis. Spring makes me appreciate the beauty of nature and inspires me.

  1. Texas is in the migratory flyway for Monarch butterflies who winter in Mexico and return to the USA and Canada for summer. Sadly, scientists report a drop of nearly 60 percent in the number of Monarch butterflies making it to their winter mountain home in Mexico this year — the lowest level since record-keeping began 20 years ago. Is it due to pollution or loss of environment? One winter I visited the Monarch Sanctuary in Pacific Grove, CA (Monterrey) and saw the trees full of Monarchs, looking like flowers..
