Binders Full of Women And Getting Home To Make Dinner!

Here is the question and each candidate’s answer that reveals which one respects women and which one misses the 1950’s when women knew their place. As Romney was talking, I couldn’t help but think of June Cleaver for some reason.

I was more offended at the part where Romney told the story about his chief of staff, who had children you know….apparently none of his male employees had any children.

Romney: …Now one of the reasons I was able to get so many good women to be part of that team was because of our recruiting effort. But number two, because I recognized that if you’re going to have women in the workforce that sometimes you need to be more flexible. My chief of staff, for instance, had two kids that were still in school.

She said, I can’t be here until 7 or 8 o’clock at night. I need to be able to get home at 5 o’clock so I can be there for making dinner for my kids and being with them when they get home from school. So we said fine. Let’s have a flexible schedule so you can have hours that work for you.

You know, because “if you ARE going to have women in the workforce…” you have to be more flexible. From the sounds of it, Romney might prefer that women aren’t in the workplace, who’s going to cook dinner and do laundry and take care of the kids when they get home from school. Golly!

But shucks, if you ARE going to have women in the workplace, you “need to be more flexible.”

  1. Reading the comments of my right-wing Facebook friends and watching Elisabeth Hasselbeck on “The View“, of course Romney was the CLEAR winner even with Candy Crowley being “too PUSHY” and exhibiting “liberal media bias”! The REICH seems to like Romney’s bossy CEO demeanor. The whiny REICH says Crowley “broke the rules” by “siding with” President Obama when Romney was caught in a LIE by saying it took two weeks after the 9/11 Benghazi attack before Obama even used the word “terrorist”. Seems to the Romney losers that a moderator isn’t to be a “fact checker” during a debate and therefore she should not have corrected Romney’s LIE. Crowley, like many informed Americans, knew the President had indeed linked terrorists with Benghazi attack the MORNING AFTER the 9/11 attack in his Rose Garden speech last month. Hasselbeck called the correction an “interjection” by Crowley. One “friend” on Facebook says a fact-check “correction” should be made instead later by the media or in this morning’s newspapers. Of course such a correction would get a lot less notice later (if at all) than correcting Romney in front of 60+ television viewers.

Seems the only moderator acceptable to the REICH has been an aging, weak Jim Lehrer, someone who let Romney “be the boss” for the night and run that show. They don’t like those damned pushy women like Candy and Martha Raddatz. Can you imagine the attacks if the moderator had been a black woman?

Joe Biden asks this morning why Romney had such a hard time finding “qualified” women?

  2. It seems Romney LIED about his putting together a BINDER full of “qualified women”, but then he has a problem with the truth.

What actually happened was that in 2002 — prior to the election, not even knowing yet whether it would be a Republican or Democratic administration — a bipartisan group of women in Massachusetts formed MassGAP to address the problem of few women in senior leadership positions in state government. There were more than 40 organizations involved with the Massachusetts Women’s Political Caucus (also bipartisan) as the lead sponsor.

They did the research and put together the binder full of women qualified for all the different cabinet positions, agency heads, and authorities and commissions. They presented this binder to Governor Romney when he was elected.

So Romney didn’t take the initiative to increase female employees in Massachusetts. He even is taking away the credit of the women in Massachusetts in demanding a more fair representation in government.

  3. I think that Candy Crowley was pissed that Romney kept on trying to talk over her and act like an asshole. He was incredibly disrespectful and finally she had enough of his bullshit. When you got Morning Joke saying that Romney shouldn’t have been so aggressive in the debate towards Crowley and the sitting president that has to tell you something.
