Respect Our President, Damn it!

You may or may not have heard about the absolute insanity of some schools asking students to bring permission slips in order for them to watch the President of the United States deliver his Back-to-School speech to school children. I remember when this happened in 2009 and then again in 2010 and it absolutely made my blood boil. I am by no means a nationalistic type, a patriotic, flag waving zealot…but I’ve always respected the office of the presidency. And even though I had nothing but problems with George W. Bush as president, I wouldn’t even think about disrespecting him when he is doing his job as President and giving a speech to school children.

This pisses me off beyond belief. Let me hand the microphone over to the incredible Angry Black Lady who wrote a great piece about this, go read it. Within her post, she referred back to an earlier piece she wrote when this ugly, blatant, disrespect reared it’s ugly head before. Go ABL…

He wants to turn your children black (and once they go black, they’ll never ever go back)

Holy shit, y’all.  Did you hear about what Obama did last week?  He gave a back-to-school speech to our nation’s childrenses!  And you know what else?  He like, totally tried to turn your child into a black person.  BEHIND YOUR BACK.  (He also pulled the plug on your grandma, but we can talk about that later.)

This aggression will not STAND, man.   I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw the news. Obama addressed a nation of young impressionable children and filled their heads with balderdash and poppycock.  (That’s British for BULLSHIT.)  He told kids that they should stay in school!  And that they should do their homework!  And that they should pass on grass!

I mean, what kind of crap is he trying to pull?  How dare he tell your children to put down that X Box Virtual 3000 2.0, stop sniffing glue, and open a book? How dare he tell your children that they need to study hard and not give up on their dreams and life in general?

ts-hello-hitlerI mean, what’s next?  I know I don’t want my kids to go to college.***  Or get a job.  Or learn shit.  I want my kids to become one of the next generation of idiotic fuckwits, like the ones at the townhall meetings, talkin’ ’bout “Hello, Hitler!”

I’ll tell you what, people: I can’t decide if this shit is hilarious or really really sad.  I mean, exactly how stupid are people?  I really want to know.  On a scale of 1 to fucking idiotic, HOW STUPID ARE PEOPLE IN THIS COUNTRY?

Better yet, how stupid do people think we are?  The Hannitys, and Limbaughs, and the Becks.  The members of the Washington Asshat Brigade who PRAISED Reagan and Bush when they gave their speeches to students nationwide?  Do they really think we’re so stupid?  Do they think that we don’t know that the only reason they’re protesting Obama’s speech is because he’s ::gasp:: BLACK!!??

Render unto me a fucking break.

Insert string of expletives here!

  1. Ron Paul is now charging President Obama with the murder of an American citizen….New Mexico born al Qaeda leader Anwar al-Awlaki. Paul says that “if the American people accept this blindly and casually that we now have an accepted practice of the president assassinating people who he thinks are bad guys, I think it’s sad.”

Paul says al-Awalki never killed anyone (although 19 terrorists including the underwear “bomber” have been arrested BEFORE they killed anyone). Al-Awalki had been in direct contact (20 emails) with Major Nidal Hasan before the Fort Hood, Texas massacre (13 killed, 29 wounded) in 2009. The REPUBLICANS are probably afraid that this national security victory, like the assassination of Osama bin-Laden will help Obama’s approval rating in the polls.

Ron Paul had approved the assassination of Osama bin-Laden earlier this year, but I guess it is now CAMPAIGN SEASON and we can’t give our first black president any credit. However, Texas Republican Congressman Michael McCaul, has praised this latest victory over al-Qaeda. BTW, McCaul is the son-of-law of billionaire owners of Clear Channel Communications and is the richest member of Congress (personal wealth of $300 million).

  2. A guest on Tamron Hall’s MSNBC show says this was not the FIRST time an American-born traitor has been killed by our government. It was noted that German-American citizens who went to Europe to fight alongside the Nazis were given no favor and were killed. And UNDER GEORGE W. BUSH in 2002, Kamal Derwish (aka Ahmed Hijazi) was an American citizen linked with the Lackawanna Six terrorist cell in Buffalo, NY, was killed by the CIA as part of a covert targeted killing mission in Yemen on November 5 of that year. The CIA used an RQ-1 Predator drone to shoot a Hellfire missile, destroying the vehicle in which he was driving with five others. It was noted that al-Awlaki often traveled with human shields of innocent civilians and therefore was not targeted in the past for fear of collateral damage which might increase hatred for the USA. Supposedly today he was away from such “shields” in a convoy.

Living in Rep. Ron Paul’s district, we get his newsletters and don’t remember Paul ever condemning Bush when he ordered killing a terrorist.

Also outrageous is Michelle Bachmann this week blaming President Obama for the “Arab Spring” as if democracy in the Middle East is a bad thing. I guess Michelle likes dictators like Qaddafi or Mubarak.

  3. The republicans are steaming with jealousy as under Obama’s watch we’ve gotten Osama, another big terrorist, and more terrorists. Now if only Obama could get the ability to do things like he was able to in 2009 and 2010. Now with the republicans in charge of the house and the dem majority in the senate nearly meaningless nothing seems to be getting done.

  4. Not only the REICH like Ron Paul, but just heard “progressive” Jeremy Scahill of the The Nation come down hard on President Obama, too, calling him “judge, jury, and executioner”! Hopefully Scahill, nor any of his family and friends will never be killed in a terrorist operation here at home. Scahill also said that is it wrong to call al-Awlaki the new leader of al-Qaeda saying he doesn’t have cred in the Arab world where he is relatively unknown, that he has mostly only been an inspiration to American homegrown terrorists. He says by killing him, it won’t remove al-Awlaki’s many jihadist sermons now floating all over the Internet.

I guess Scahill and his “progressive” ilk would rather see the foreign policy of say a President Bachmann or President Perry. Democrats stay home, DON”T VOTE!

  5. Rachel Maddow had on a guest tonight who came down hard on Obama for his ordering the assassination of the this al Qaeda leader, saying it was an “illegal act” as we are not at war with Yemen. Rachel, seemed to be in agreement with him. Sometimes the “bleeding hearts” among us don’t live in the REAL world.

  6. They can say whatever they want. Yemen was working with the US on this score and I’m personally disgusted at our media seeing as everything Bush did was heavily praised and mindlessly worshiped by most of the media. Very few actually spoke out against Bush and when they did they were usually reprimanded.

Ahh well I think this country deserves whatever it gets and if a republican becomes president I’m considering moving.

  7. Here is a link to Rachel Maddow’s snarky “Judge, Jury, and Drone Attack” (what this report is labeled on her page). Rachel begins (2:15 minutes in) by first showing Giuliani and McCain mouthing doubts in 2008 about Obama being willing to take care of al-Qaeda then she gives a laundry list (5:30 in) of the many al Qaeda leaders/terrorists that Obama has since liquidated. Then she has on a guest, Spencer Ackerman of (12:40 in) coming down hard on Obama for these special operations and then Maddow sarcastically seems to turn on the Obama, too, for keeping us safe from them asking “under what authority” did President Obama have? Aww, we didn’t give these AMERICAN CITIZEN “alleged” terrorists “due process” (like we can just go into Yemen, arrest them, bring them back to the USA in handcuffs). Maddow then asks “under what authority” did the USA (Obama) have?…further promoting a meme that President Obama acted ILLEGALLY. That the policy is “kill first, ask questions later”!

Here is the website of Maddow’s “honored guest” Spencer Ackerman of who believes that President Obama acted outside of the law:

Glenn Greenwald seems not to like that website however, holding them responsible for Bradley Manning’s “Wikileaks” arrest.

  8. All this does is make hard nosed liberals look bad in my opinion. Being liberal myself on many issues I feel that I sometimes don’t get a good voice about the matter. For one Obama did what he had to do to make sure this country is safe from people like this Alwaki. The problem is that the reporting of this man was done in such a way to make him sound like he was some victim when he wasn’t. He renounced his citizenship and burned his passport and joined a foreign terrorist group.

What Maddow and friends are suggesting is to allow this guy to move and operate while protected by the law to do unlimited amount of damage against the United States. This is why so many feel like republicans are better at handling terrorist threats and liberals are unable and almost afraid to to tackle the problem. Of course Obama is an exception but so many seem to feel that other democrats are unable to tackle these issues. It’s of course completely false as Obama and many other democrats have proven time and time again but Maddow isn’t helping.

Of course with Ron Paul you’d think that he’d even it out but Paul is more or less an oddball.

  9. I am of two minds about this. This individual was a dangerous man, a man who was a US citizen. I have no problem with him being dead. I do not care for the means. But, I will get over that.

  10. A descendent of Quaker missionaries in Kokomo, I tend to be on the side of pacifism except in the case of self-defense. I learned in elementary school that “turning the other cheek” didn’t solve problems many times….only inviting more bullying. I look at these operations as being needed to defuse the jihadists who want to kill Americans everywhere. Al-Awlaki preached at a mosque a decade ago in San Diego to two of the 9/11 hijackers and again preached to two more hijackers when he moved to a mosque in Falls Church, VA. He had at least 20 email contacts with Maj. Nidal Hasan who shot up Fort Hood hitting 42 innocents, killing 13. IMO, al-Awlaki had much blood on his hands even if the bleeding heart liberals now supporting him are trying to play games of legalese. These are not normal times. Seems many Republicans support Obama now on his handling of the the war against terrorists….Ron Paul seems to be the Republican “odd man out”, more in league with “progressives” like Maddow. But what do I know…I’m not a Rhodes Scholar like Rachel.

  11. Jonathan Turley writes in the Los Angeles Times that Obama “may prove the most disastrous president in our history in terms of civil liberties.”.

In time, the election of Barack Obama may stand as one of the single most devastating events in our history for civil liberties. Now the president has begun campaigning for a second term. He will again be selling himself more than his policies, but he is likely to find many civil libertarians who simply are not buying.,0,7542436.story

IOW, either VOTE Republican or Democrats stay at home election day!

The progressive professor at The George Washington University Law School is often a guest now of Keith Olberman on Current TV.

  12. Dr. Cornel West of Princeton (does he ever find time to teach?) is making an appearance at the Wall Street protests asking President Obama “to apologize for calling on members of the Congressional Black Caucus to ‘stop complaining, stop grumbling, stop crying’ …you heard brother Barack’s speech to the Black Caucus the other day. ‘March with me’…condescending, insulting – disrespecting, stop complaining, stop grumbling, stop crying.”

Just knew West would be on Wall Street. After all there are many cameras and microphones!

  13. Glenn Greenwald has to jump in on the al-Awlaki killing with this 3 cents worth:

And Salon’s Joan Walsh and David Sirota are upset with Melissa Harris-Perry for her recent accusation that white liberals are holding Obama up to a higher standard than they would for a white president. Sirota says it is not racism causing white liberals to flee, but Obama’s “right-wing policies”.

I am avid reader of what used to be progressive sites and blogs all over the Internet but anymore, reading most of them make me want to give up. Do they want me to stay at home and let the Republicans take over all branches of government?

  14. To hell with Turley.

He also supported President Clinton’s impeachment.

Seriously, President Obama is”the most disastrous President in our history in terms of civil liberties”? What? What, President G. W. Bush is just flushed down the memory hole now?

In what f***ing universe (pardon my language) is Turley living in?

Maybe he prefers a GOP nutjob in the White House. God help me, I am so damned sick of some of these folks who call themselves “progressives”–they are the most selfish, self-destructive fools I have ever seen in my life.

  15. “Do they want me to stay at home and let the Republicans take over all branches of government?”

And after all, if the GOP is in charge of all branches, these folks will make out well–lots of stuff to talk about, and a lot of spleen venting. Even if it means the country goes over the damned cliff with no hope of recovery.

  16. Anymore, reading sites like Common Dreams, Reader Supported News, Truthout, The Nation, etc. just make my blood boil….a bunch of whiners who seem to want to be losers.
I wasn’t one of the earlier supporters of Obama in 2008 so never believed him to be “The One” nor believed he “walked on water” as jerks like Limbaugh charged. Never have I seen a president since FDR running against such odds. I think only Abraham Lincoln faced greater crises. In fact in 2008, knowing the mess being left by Bush/Cheney, I wondered why anyone even wanted to be President. Obama has been brave. Hillary probably is glad now she has an easier job. Being born during FDR’s second administration, I have lived under 13 presidents and not one has completely satisfied me, but after all our presidents are mortals, not gods.
