President Barack Obama – A Real Commander-in-Chief

This is an excellent clip from The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell. It destroys the myth that Republicans are stronger than Democrats on national security. The party of Trump, Palin, Bachmann, Goehmert, Steve King and all the clowns in the posse look like children compared to this president. This serious man is the exact person we need as our President at this time in history.

  1. My morning paper had a big article on the role “enhanced interrogation” (AKA waterboarding) may have played on getting the intelligence we needed. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Texas) said intelligence obtained at Guantanamo prison that led to bin Laden’s death was “a direct result of President Bush’s orders. President Bush set into motion the mission to bring down bin Laden,” she said, “and President Obama carried it through to completion.”

Republican U.S. Rep. Michael McCaul (the multimillionaire son-in-law of billionaire founder of Clear Channel Communications) told the Houston Chronicle that 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed provided U.S. interrogators the name of a courier trusted by bin Laden, enabling U.S. officials to eventually track the courier to the compound where bin Laden was found and killed on Sunday by a helicopter-borne team of Navy SEALs.

McCaul said Mohammed had surrendered the crucial information some time after being subjected to the “aggressive interrogation techniques for which the Bush administration was criticized.”

So Bush/Cheney were right…torture works!!! Wonder how the descendents of Japanese, who were executed by the USA in war crimes trials for waterboarding U.S. soldiers, feel about it now?

  2. Sarah Palin spoke at Colorado Christian University and she still cannot work in any thanks to OUR President Obama for his gutsy decision to go after Osama bin Laden.

“Their courage and their determination brought us justice,” Palin said of those who hunted the terrorist figurehead for nearly 10 years. “They know that freedom isn’t free. It’s a God-given right and worth fighting for.”

Palin never mentioned President Barack Obama by name — instead saying, “We thank President (George W.) Bush for having made the right calls to set up this victory.”

Also speaking was retired Gen. William “Jerry” Boykin, the very right-wing evangelical who has been in hot water on several occasions with the Pentagon for his rabid anti-Islam rhetoric and for his many attempts to proselytize for his fundamentalist religion among the military.
