  1. I would like to know what your response is to a simple question I posted recently concerning Customs and Immigration at major U.S. airports:

Seriously, I would like to know what you think about this.

  2. It’s too bad that those who speaks out the loudest in the support of these papers have never actually read them, but say they have after Glenn Beck says they have. See? Whatever Beck says they believe! This is why part of the nation is so stupid at the moment.

  3. Here is the question at that link…”For those who support the millions of non-assimilating law breakers who infiltrate our country on a regular basis and believe Arizona’s pending law is the equivalent of a “Nazi regime”, I have one simple question: Do you also consider Customs and Immigration to be a Nazi regime, and should we therefore dismantle and remove the Customs and Immigration officials at international airports around the United States?”

First, as is typical, your question has all sorts of assumptions based on your bias. “For those who support the millions of …..blah, blah, blah.

I’m not sure how many times I have to type that it’s about law abiding US citizens that I am personally concerned not people coming here illegally. I support legal citizens who are going to get hassled because of bigotry and racial profiling.

It’s crazy to even have debates with people like you who argue from a base that has nothing to do with reality. You all seem to think that if we are concerned about legal US citizens that we are supporting illegal immigrants. It’s like you are arguing with a fantasy that exists only in your head.

Your customs point proves this. Customs officials are at borders and points of entry, that’s IS where people should be asked for their papers. Not when they are taking their child to little league or going grocery shopping as legal US citizens and because of their skin color have to present papers……LIKE NAZI GERMANY!

  4. Regarding being asked for papers while at a little league game, this would not bother me at all, just as it does not bother me at the airport or at a road block if a killer is on the loose and the cops need to check each car. It’s done for our protection and our sovereignty. If in Arizona, I have nothing to hide and stand ready to show my papers any time if it means that an army of 400,000 illegals will be removed.

Many prominent Mexicans have joked that the 20 million illegals are effectively staging a slow-motion “war” to “retake the southern USA territory” that they lost in the Mexican American war. These are their own statements, not the statements of right wing radio.

So if we are in a slow motion war and the enemy is mixed in with the legal immigrants you claim to be solely concerned with, then I have no problem with having to show papers. How else will society be protected from people who infiltrate?

  5. You’re a fucking racist. People with your attitude made this okay: http://www.azfamily.com/news/91769419.html

A war? How do they win? If 51% of the population have brown skin suddenly it ceases to be our territory? They are our sisters and brothers, no need to be afraid of people of color – bigot.

You should be wary of the paths that can be followed by requiring certain segments of the population to publicly identify themselves. Want them to wear arm-bands, too?

  6. “Many of the prominent Mexicans have joked”……..NO, NOT A JOKE! Us Racists have no sense of humor, you can’t tell us a JOKE!

Us white people better start doing some fucking, huh?

Your statement clearly shows your racism, what does it matter if Hispanics are the majority population in a state, whites have that in many states right now. If race does not matter as so many of you racists love to say, then what does it matter if the majority is Hispanic. The only reason it WOULD matter is if you are racist.

And simply because it wouldn’t bother you to be asked for your papers, there is this quaint little document called The Constitution where it does matter. Our founding fathers clearly didn’t want the country being run like a Kingdom, they kind of wanted the opposite. They went to great pains to write these things into the constitution and just because you are OK with your rights being trampled on, doesn’t mean the rest of us are going to give up those rights.

And my concern isn’t simply for “illegal immigrants” as you say, it’s for all American citizens who might have their rights trampled on, including natural born citizens. Including people who might not even be Hispanic, but might look Hispanic or wear Hispanic looking shoes or clothes (it’s in the law).

It really shouldn’t surprise me that there are so many people who are willing to give up their rights for white rule, the same people didn’t seem to give a shit about George W. Bush spying on them, locking people up for several years without any due process….shit the list could go on for days.

    Nice try though.

  7. Race has nothing to do with the requirement of assimilation. Assimilation is a cultural imperative, not a racial imperative. Am I against the millions who have come here illegally and who have no intention whatsoever to assimilate? Of course, and so are many latinos who came here through the front door and who respect, as I do as a descendant of southern Europeans, the anglo saxon founders of this nation.

The anglo saxon model produces far more wealth than the latin and southern European models (look at Portugal, Spain, Greece, Italy, Central America, South America), and any immigrant class in the United States owes it to the country to anglicize themselves, just as my southern European ancestors did.

But I’ll bet my saying that anglo-saxon culture and enlightenment thinking produced this great country and all its wealth is offensive to you, right?

You probably believe that all the wealth north of the Mexican border is some accident of geography. That our culture, our way of life and government, is no different from the Mexican one. We all just tripped over the gold sprouting up out of the ground, which only happens north of the Rio Grande, right?

No, we are the wealthiest because the Founders devised an ingenious system based on their culture, learning, and innovation they brought with them. It transcends race because we all commit to melt into the melting pot of their culture.

If the Founders had settled what is now Mexico, and Spain ended up with Mexico to our north, we would still be the most powerful and free and wealthy nation on earth, and illegals would be streaming south into our lands with the same sense of entitlement and blindness to what made us wealthy in the first place. But of course we have plenty of legals who are plenty blind themselves.

As for American citizens who are having their rights trampled: if you really cared about them, you would love the Arizona law, because it is designed to protect these very people. It finally say: enough of their rights being trampled by hundreds of thousands of trespassers. It is the legal residents of Arizona who can finally know their rights count for something.

  8. I’m not sure exactly when this thread switched over to “assimilation” and “cultural imperatives” and arrogant supremacy of the Anglo-saxon culture and it’s ability to produce “wealth”. Did I miss a fork in the road?

I’ll just start by saying I don’t know where you get your assumptions about my beliefs that you piled into your pontification. I don’t necessarily feel like I have to defend myself against your rantings because nothing that I posted or commented on would lead you to spew that pile of horseshit…like “You probably believe that all the wealth north of the Mexican border is some accident of geography.”

Why would you project horseshit like that on me? Do you have some fantasy liberal in your head that you project onto people, is it easier for you to come up with your bullshit when you set up straw men and then shoot him down? I’m just asking.

I’m not going to waste my time and anyone who might read it refuting your projections of crazy ideas on me. I will address what I think is wrong with some of what you typed. You have every right to be “against the millions who have come here illegally”, good for you. We are all free to be against whatever we want. I personally try not to pit myself against anyone or any group. I’m not a zero sum type of guy. I don’t see myself being hurt by someone else being successful.

Your whole tirade about “The anglo saxon model produces far more wealth than the latin and southern European models”. Even if it is true and I’m not going to claim it isn’t, I still put it in the “So What” category. Is wealth the true measure of a country’s worth? Especially when that wealth resides with such a small percentage of the population? What about quality of life, happiness and peacefulness of the society? Health?

So I would ask you what you are implying with your “Of course, and so are many latinos who came here through the front door and who respect, as I do as a descendant of southern Europeans, the anglo saxon founders of this nation.” Yeah, great, respecting the founders of the country, I like it. But what exactly are you trying to imply with that and the next paragraph? That they are a superior race? I’m asking, not doing like you and ascribing shit to you.

I’ll let others chew on other stuff you typed, if they want. The last thing I’ll type for now is that I re-read the constitution last night and it was very enlightening. It reminded me of how incredibly insightful they were, how forward thinking and almost prophetic. I’m working on a post about what I took away from it in light of the trends going on in our country. One thing I noticed was they were very concerned about the majority subjecting the minority. Many of the specifics on votes in the congress required 3/4 of the congres to pass things.

Here is a quote from the notes at usconstitution.net about Habeas Corpus along with the quotation from the Constitution and the definition of Habeas Corpus.

“It is important to note that of all the civil liberties we take for granted today as a part of the Bill of Rights, the importance of habeas corpus is illustrated by the fact that it was the sole liberty thought important enough to be included in the original text of the Constitution.”

    From the constitution…
The privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in Cases of Rebellion or Invasion the public Safety may require it.

    Habeas Corpus
habeas corpus n. Law A writ issued to bring a party before a court to prevent unlawful restraint. [<Med. Lat., you should have the body] Source: AHD

  9. The fork in the road was your analytically misguided accusation of racism on my part, so I thought I’d explain the difference between loyalty to a cultural identity (summarized with the moniker “anglo-saxon”) and loyalty to a particular race.

Your “So What” comment about our culture producing the most wealth is bizarre. Our wealth and the culture that created it is worth defending, no? Your questioning of whether wealth defines a society’s worth makes you sound indifferent to the fact that we are a wealthy country, as if you’d be okay some other outcome. I can tell you who is not indifferent to the wealth and opportunity here: 20 million illegals. You think they’re here for the color of our dirt? Same as theirs by the way.

What I don’t understand is why you invoke the country’s founding documents as if they apply to illegal immigrants. They are for the protection of American citizens. Those here illegally who seek to undermine our culture and shared beliefs must leave, and if in order for that to happen people have to identify themselves for a time, it is worth it.

As citizens we have to show identification in all kinds of venues. I don’t want terrorists on airplanes, and I’m sure Arizonans don’t want their culture turned into Mexico. If showing ID on request is a way to accomplish these goals, the Constitution and BOR are doing just fine.
