As far as I can tell, Glenn Greenwald is one of those people who thinks human beings are inherently very ‘evil’. By nature, in his imaginary world, humans have no goal other than to tell lies and commit crimes in an attempt to achieve dominance over each other. The goal, then, is to be the cleanest, purest liar, the one who ‘rules’ by being the great savior.

Either that or he’s just a big jerk.

I used to read him all the time when he was at Salon. Then I started noticing his articles were mainly about how another journalist or whoever had hurt his feelings. They hadn’t respected him. If anyone but Greenwald had “broken” this story, I might be a little more upset. And it’s hard to explain to people who don’t know who he is why this isn’t the biggest scandal the world has ever seen.

I am sure on is agenda is writing books, maybe a film deal to line his pockets. Greenwald promises more release of classified information, soon.

Note in the Guardian article how partisans have flip-flopped on this issue. Notice how many who loved Bush’s Patriot Act that at first included WARRANTLESS wire taps are now against this program which now requires warrants from FISA judges and the oversight of Congress. Some in Congress who claim they didn’t know also skipped briefings, I guess some were too busy fund raising, making appearances on cablenews and talk radio. However, many on the right (and some on the left) hate/inflate anything that happens under this President. Strange bedfellows that many ideologues on the far left like Michael Moore, most of the pundits at leftist The Nation, Reader Supported News, Common Dreams, Rachel Maddow, Chris Hayes, etc. are in the same bed as most of the far right including most Texas Congresscritters/Rick Perry and the Fox News talking heads. However those more moderate in both parties like Republicans Boehner and Graham and Democrats like Feinstein and Franken support a strong national security. (list of those for/against in Wiki link below. I am glad we didn’t have “heroes” like Greenwald/Snowden around in the early 40′s or they would have revealed plans of the top secret Normandy invasion. When I was a kid, the common meme was “Loose lips sink ships!”. A true patriot doesn’t expose secrets that our enemies may use against us.

Glenn has an agenda, and as per usual, he’ll cherry pick facts or just make them up to fit his agenda. Snowden must have seemed like a gift from the gods to him, except for a few things he didn’t think of. Mainly that Snowden’s claims don’t pass too many technical “sniff tests,” which are being pointed out by virtually every technology site and blog.

LOL…..yep, yep. I print his own words and I’m “misrepresenting” him. I’m really glad he had a conversion, if he actually did, but that doesn’t eliminate the fact that he was stupid enough to believe all that shit to begin with. He wasn’t a punk kid either, he was in his mid 30′s when he wrote that so he can’t really claim immaturity…at least with a straight face.

Your continued misrepresentations of Greenwald are outrageous. The entire point of that book’s preface (which you seem not to realize is attached to a book length criticism of the Bush administration) is to demonstrate that Greenwald was politically apathetic and deferential to executive power prior to his political awakening. The reason you are aware of the preface is he often mentions it when discussing the dangers of trusting political leadership.

The biggest complaint against the initial Patriot Act under Bush/Cheney was it providing for WARRANTLESS wire taps which since has been corrected at the NSA. Just went to a hotel booking site yesterday to research room rates for a future trip and already getting my sidebars on Yahoo, Facebook filling up with ads for various hotels in that city. My favorite cereal is Cheerios and today on a Facebook sidebar have an ad plus a coupon for Cheerios. Must have commented once upon a time how I love Cheerios! Gee, somebody is reading my emails! So if PRIVATE corporations can make megabucks off advertising targeting my buying habits, I could care less about my government analyzing my phone calls/having access to my computer.
