Saturday Morning Stalling – Smart Granddaughter Photos

I’m working on a piece that I think is pretty good, but I’m feeling pressure to help out around the homestead, so I’ll get it up later when the warden gives me a few minutes. But until then, please enjoy one of the latest pictures of my brilliant granddaughter, who, when pulling into our driveway the other day, said “Bumpa”. Which is me, you know? For a 14 month old to be able to associate a place with a person like that seems pretty amazing to me. I guess she isn’t saying “Momma” or “Grandma” much these days, mostly just “Bumpa”. I think she misses me. :)

I’m calling this The Phone Series.

Happy Father’s Day – Cute Granddaughter Edition

I’ve started writing about my fathers, both my real father who died when I was 6 years old and my step-father who died a couple years ago, who became my dad when I was 14. Both were amazing men and had a very positive impact on my life. I am also very grateful and blessed to have had a Big Brother, Jack, from Big Brothers of America (now Big Brothers/Big Sisters). All 3 of those men had a lot to do with who I am. Thanks guys!

I have never had any children, but I am the step-father to an awesome woman who is the mother of my equally awesome granddaughter. Below are some pictures of my granddaughter that have been texted to me over the last couple of days. She’s pretty cool. We are watching her next weekend, I can’t wait.

At the zoo, the first time seeing an alligator, pretty much sums it up!

Cool kid! Always curious!

Her mom says she likes camping!

Time to blow some bubbles!

I may get the other post up later today, but I may not. I don’t want to rush it and I have a lot of work to do on a video project. Fun work, but work non-the-less.

Sunday Photo Fun – Mostly Macro Edition

I took these four photos yesterday out in the yard. I’m blessed to have a wife who is an advanced master gardener and that I live in my dream home, with my dream yard, in my dream location. I’m sure glad I live in Michigan where you can own a paradise for so little money. And even though winters are long and suck, this time of year all the way through fall, when the leaves paint the scenery with bright colors, make living in Michigan worth it. Someday, I might be able to get away in winter, but I will always keep my paradise. I’ll get back to blogging later, heading out for a walk to the lake, with camera. :)

It’s Hot, But It Could Be Worse!

Here are a couple of photos that remind me not to complain too much about how hot it is. There is a picnic table under those piles of snow in the first shot.

photo of the day – Lake Michigan

This is about a half mile from my home, whenever people put Michigan down, I like to take a walk down here to remind myself why I live in this great state.

I’m Serious, The Cutest Pictures Of A One Year Old Ever!

This is my goofy, smart, fun, talented one year old granddaughter. She reeealllly likes her grandpa, me. We took a nap together this afternoon, she likes to hug me tight. Calls me “bumpa” sometimes, grandpa other times. She knows sign language really well and says many words, she’s very bright. And she loves to play, laugh, dance and entertain.
