Take six minutes of your weekend and watch this classic cartoon, do they make them like this way anymore?
It’s hard to believe that these cartoons were made in the 50′s, it shows how animators are way ahead of their time. My favorite part, Daffy Duck saying “Walla Walla Washington”…they really don’t make cartoons like they used to, for the most part. There are some great ones being made today, but when you look back at what they were doing in the 50′s and 60′s it’s really amazing. Enjoy your weekend and thank a union. I’m in home improvement mode this weekend…finishing my basement, there are walls to be built, electric to be run, outlets, light fixtures…fun stuff.
If you are offended by swearing, cursing, profanity…whatever you want to call it, DO NOT WATCH THIS CLIP! But if you liked The Big Lebowski, then you need to watch it. NSFW, unless you work for me!
One of the most successful graduates of the film program I work and teach in is Greg Colton, a director of the show “Family Guy”. He is a good friend of a good friend of mine and is a really cool guy. He won an Emmy Award this year for Best Individual Achievement in Storyboarding for the following section of the Multiverse episode. This is in the style of a Disney animation and is incredible. This Youtube clip is compressed kind of funky, but you still get the incredible talent of Greg. Enjoy….
A student of mine showed me this, I just had to share. Spiders on drugs….Just Say No!
This about sums it up for me this weekend. I am “supposed” to find out about a future project but I’ve been supposing for a while now. Enjoy the weekend, have fun, forget about politics. I’m finishing up the project I dusted off a few weeks ago…..argh, you pay people good money and they give you crap audio, WTF!
Laugh while you can, everyone is saying the Republicans are taking control of congress again. I’m not convinced…yet!
We just left the taping of the Daily Show, Will Ferrel was the guest and Jon did a great piece about the 14th amendment. Will walks around the studio so you might see me, white baseball hat and white T-shirt, clapping with my hands in the air. Very cool experience.
Other posts coming as soon as we get to the hotel.
From Paul Krugman’s Conscience of a Liberal, who says economists aren’t creative and funny?
Saving Ryan’s Privatization
I had a lot of fun searching around Youtube for Richard Pryor clips. I think I’ve seen every stand up video he ever made but I came across some TV appearances that were new to me. Below are some of my favorite clips (that were on Youtube, I couldn’t find some of my all time favorites), I hope you laugh as hard as I did.
I saw a bumper sticker on the way into work today that is a perfect example of the macho idiots who populate our society. It said…
“Insured By Glock”
What does that actually mean anyway. If he gets in an accident, he’s going to shoot someone? Who, the other driver, the cop who shows up, the judge, or is it the body shop that is going to fix the car? It makes absolutely no sense and is really just meant to intimidate people, I guess. Tell them, I’m packing and I have small testicles.
“Gun Control Means Using Both Hands”
I guess until one of their family members gets killed by a psycho on a rampage, we’ll have to pry their guns from their cold dead hands.
These are two of the my favorite scenes from a movie. Young Frankenstein is my all time favorite comedy. Marty Feldman…gotta love him.
In this one, notice how Gene Wilder loses it right after Igor bites the mink stole on Madeline Kahn’s neck.
From my all time favorite collection. Sorry about the crappy encoding on the Monty Python skit, I didn’t do it!
This is one of the best Foghorn Leghorn cartoons in my opinion. It sure was fun surfing around Youtube trying to find one. Watch it, it will remind you of how much better cartoons were back in the day.
