What the right refuses to acknowledge regarding gun safety is that the mere presence of a gun in the house means one is less safe. I realize that some people live in fear of a home invasion (sometimes that fear is rational, other times it’s not), but statistics show that domestic violence and suicides are the biggest causes of gun deaths in the home. I’m not for outlawing all guns, but the ease with which so many Americans can purchase a gun is atrocious.
